Need Help With Feedburner + Wordpress. Can't Burn Valid Feed

(1) feed i'm trying to burn http://www.jackandjillpolitics.com/feed

(2) feedvalidator says it's ok but

(3) here's feedburner not letting me burn it
The URL you entered does not appear to be a valid feed. We encountered the following problem: Unknown feed format encountered (The root element is [Element: <html/>])

I hate posting all my tech questions to my blog, but feedburner doesn't seem to offer any support whatsoever. They have a Google Group. That's all.

I've tried using jackandjillpolitics.com/feed/atom and jackandjillpolitics.com/wp-rss2.php

They all result in the unhelpful cryptic message above.

Other info that might be of use? The blog software is installed at /blog but i have the public address as /

Could there be something in the .htaccess file?

Thanks to anyone who can hook me up. We have lots of RSS subscribers, and I don't want them to lose out.

You can try plugging in this: http://www.jackandjillpolitics.com/?feed=rss2">http://www.jackandjillpolitics.com/?feed=rss2

However, Wordpress automatically publishes this feed, so feedburner is a bit redundent.

Thanks, that one doesn't work either. :(

FYI, I like feedburner for reasons beyond the feed. it provides
metrics and an email funciton that makes life easier.

yeah that's what i'm trying. you need an active feedburner feed to
provide the plugin. i'm using that plugin here at http://baratunde.com">baratunde.com with
no problems. Problem is I can't get the feedburner service to burn the
JJP feed. I wish there was someone I could call or email there. I
can't believe they offer no tech support at all

Here's an idea, try using just the domain name, no directory.

My guess? Feedburner has some horrible DNS caching in place, and is still looking at your old web host.

Because you have wildcard DNS now, you can access the site with http://anything.jackandjillpolitics.com/">http://anything.jackandjillpolitics.com/ -- However, when you try that URL with FeedBurner, it changes the error message to"The domain "anything.jackandjillpolitics.com" does not seem to exist"

Not sure what to suggest, beyond waiting and hoping FeedBurner catches up with reality, or trying to ping the Google Group to see if they can fix it at their end.

Thanks

I've posted to the google group and to the wordpress forums

what's so frustrating is the lack of any real support option. at this
point i'd pay to get someone at feedburner to explain what's going on.
I'm not sure why this is an acceptable way to run a service. We're a
pretty prominent blog and get significant traffic via RSS feed. I
really liked feedburner and had no major problems until now. If it's a
DNS issue, it should be resolved in a day or so, but the not knowing
is killing me.

Why would you run a service with such uncertainty like this?

Thanks
