Volcano Erupts On Russian Island. Plume Blocks Flight Path. Thus, I'm In Anchorage, Not Tokyo
Sunday, June 14, 2009 at 22:37That's the word so far. All inbound flights to Japan are being rerouted. We had to backtrack a bit to land in Anchorage. Captain is gonna refuel and get a new flight plan. They are hoping we don't stay in Anchorage over one hour.
Now I can say I've been to Alaska. Enjoy these photos team!

The view is amazing. Do they allow you to capture pics in flight. Some airlines don`t allow it? The pics are definitely worth seeing.
Cant the Plane cross a valcano. The height of the plane is very high. Why the stop the flight? Do the avaition industry have some regulation about it.

i was thinking the same....... But they might have some rules..... because when volcano explodes it dust is spread over 50-60 miles. This might be the reason.

Mishappening can be with anyone. Just be careful. Thats the main precaution.
