My friend Hashim Warren has a cool site and service over at Career Green Light. I'm part of an interview series he's running, and he wrote the following about today's interview:
This upcoming Monday I’m continuing Career Green Light’s “Personal Branding for the Entertainment Industry” seminar series with an interview with Baratunde Thurston, a career ninja in our business with an awesome triple threat.
I was brought in to represent a comedic perspective, but I had to drop some facts in as well. I didn't get to counter all the misinformation, but got some points across and actually had fun. I learned back in Boston to be able to distinguish between Fox News Channel (on cable) and the local Fox affiliates. Anyway, enjoy.
Here's the video!
I couldn't see any of the other participates so hope that didn't come across as weird. What did come across to me as weird is that we're having a big debate about whether people involved in violating domestic and international law should be prosecuted. I tried many different angles during this segment in an attempt to highlight the absurd notion that we should only look forward. I hope one of them stuck. Always appreciate any feedback. I'll be back on CNN.com/live Monday at 12:10pm ET. Topic TBD
Oh and thanks to Huffington Post for letting me use their office space for the webcast.
Oh dear god. I just noticed the caption on the video refers to us as The Blogger Bunch. As in The Brady Bunch. What has happened to the most trusted name in news!?

How are the Netroots connecting with the grassroots and organizing for lasting change? How is the landscape changing as new voices emerge, blogs go local, and corporate media tries to capitalize on what’s happening online?

A fast-paced, multimedia night of inspiring speeches and music, dance and spoken-word performances. Emcees Lizz Winstead, co-creator of The Daily Show, and Baratunde Thurston of Laughing Liberally will crack us up, and the DJ will keep us moving. Plus we’ll hear from conference-goers and unveil the 2008 inductees into the “Big Media Hall of Shame.”
Drop me an email, tweet, facebook msg, or comment so we can try to meet up. I'll be posting updates to my twitter account if you want to catch snippets there.
As I used to do in college and have started doing again in my travels, I'm holding office hours as a way to connect with my Bay Area people and have them connect with each other.
I'll be sitting (ok squatting) at Revolution Cafe in the Mission all Sunday afternoon from about 3:30 to 7:30.
